Library Director Receives UNT PEARL Milestone Award

Chico Public Library Director Michelle Slonaker received the 2014 UNT PEARL Milestone Award during the 2014 TxLA Conference in San Antonio. The PEARL Project, funded by the Robert and Ruby Priddy Charitable Trust, addressed the roles of small rural libraries as community resources, gathering places for people and facilitators for community partnerships. Participants in the project received training and peer interaction, assistance in creating Community Outreach Programs, funding to attend the 2014 TxLA Conference, and $1,000 to be used at the discretion of the library.
